Marcelito Pomoy gets offers to do shows in several countries
Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy continues to receive offers to do shows abroad despite not winning as champ on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” where he finished third runner-up.
In an interview with ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe, the 35-year-old dual voice artist shared details about his next career steps, but not before expressing gratefulness for his “AGT” experience.
“Makatungtong lang du’n sa stage ay malaking factor na kasi all over the world ang makakakilala sayo. Actually nu’ng inere ‘yung audition piece ko ang daming international na nag-inquire kaya sobrang saya ko na,” he shared.
Marcelito wowed the judges by singing both Celine Dion’s and Andrea Bocelli’s parts in the “The Prayer.” When uploaded on the “AGT” YouTube channel last Jan. 13, it received at least 26 million views.
He revealed that after his recent gigs in Asian countries Singapore, Japan, and Indonesia few weeks ago, he’s set to fly to Canada, Unites States, Hawaii, and Australia for more shows. Oh, and in-between are numerous public performances in different parts of the Philippines.
Now that he has spread his wings, Marcelito promises to up his game by studying and learning songs in different languages.
Recall that the grand winner of the second season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” can perform several songs written in Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and Spanish tracks.
“Siyempre iba-ibang lugar napupuntahan ko so kailangan kong pag-aralan kasi ‘pag nag-invite sila at least may ma kanta ako sa kanila.”
Marcelito credited the “AGT: The Champions” judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Alesha Dixon for believing in him.
“Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa kanila. Sa nangyari sa akin ngayon, iba ang feedback ng tao eh. Kung hindi dahil sa kanila, kung hindi dahil sa ‘America’s Got Talent,’ wala ako sa kinalalagyan ko ngayon na nakilala sa buong mundo.”
